  • 1. Why should I visit the Great Barrier Reef?

We get this question a lot, which is surprising as we believe the Great Barrier Reef should be on everyone’s bucket list! The Great Barrier Reef is a spectacular living organism that spans for hundreds of kilometres. The marine-life is not found anywhere else in the world and the waters are stunningly turquoise. Really, we think the question is why would anyone not visit the Great Barrier Reef!

  • 2. Can I go to the Great Barrier Reef if I am pregnant?

Of course you can! You can certainly still go to and very much enjoy the Great Barrier Reef if you are pregnant. There may be some limitations to the activities you can enjoy, such as scuba diving or deep-sea walking, but you most certainly can snorkel, swim and embark on glass-bottom boat tours!

  • 3. Is the Great Barrier Reef dying?

There are many threats to the Great Barrier Reef in this day and age. However, all hope should not be lost there are many people and organisations working tirelessly to ensure that the reef is protected and alive for years to come.

One of the best ways to learn about the reef and how you too can protect it is to visit! The Great Barrier Reef can, and will, be saved. If there is any positive from the lockdown its that the reef may have a break to revive for a while as we all stay away.

  • 4. What can I do to protect the reef while I visit?

One of the best things you can do is book reef-friendly tours. All our tours are conducted in ways that impose the absolute minimum impact on the reef. Other things you can do include using reef-safe sunscreen, always taking all rubbish and belongings home with you, and remembering to not wear makeup or other potentially toxic beauty products.

  • 5. When is the best time of year to visit?

The Great Barrier Reef sits along a relatively tropical climate, so there is no bad time of year to visit. Whether heading down under in the winter or the summer you’re sure to have a delightfully warm visit.

Plus, the great thing about swimming is that you’re certain to get wet so really what does a little rain matter!

  • 6. Will we see the cast of Finding Nemo?

While we can’t guarantee you’ll see Marlin and Dory themselves, we’re almost certain you’ll see many of their relatives and friends from the film!
