What is the difference between the Great Barrier Reef regular and deluxe tours?

Interested in visiting one of the seven wonders of the world? Why wouldn’t you! Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s most extraordinary natural attractions. With over 2,900 coral reefs and 900 islands, the reef spans out 2000km of coastline, being so great it is visible from outer space. But where does one start? Working out the best tour for you is crucial when

Great Barrier Reef Tour $115

Our regular tour offers an extraordinary day out in the deep waters of Australia. Starting from Cairns marina, the boat, a maximum of 60 passengers, starts off, cruising out far into the outer ocean. While you are journeying out, platters of fruit, tea, and coffee will be served to fuel you up for the day’s adventures. The main activity for this tour is snorkelling, with an opportunity to snorkel at multiple reefs throughout the Barrier. An intro class on board the boat will help you get the hang of the marine equipment available. After learning what’s what, plunge into the waters and discover the captivating marine life in this underwater wonderland. Spend the day hopping from one reef to the next, marvelling at the colourful fishes whizzing past you. If the weather is permitting, the tour group can enjoy a boom netting experience, which allows you to sit in the water as the boat whizzing through, letting you marvel at the passing islands and the underwater world. In the afternoon the staff will offer you a complimentary wine along with a cheese platter to nibble on as you slowly cruise back to Cairns.

Great Barrier Reef Cruise Deluxe $205

Our deluxe tour offers all the regular tour has with even more! With a larger and faster, state-of-the-art boat, this tour races to the reef, giving more time within the reef for the day. The deluxe offers both a BBQ breakfast (consisting of a hearty BBQ egg and bacon roll with fruit platters) as well as a BBQ Lunch, letting you fill your belly to the brim and leaving you satisfied until nightfall. The deluxe tour, although offers snorkelling for all, also includes one scuba dive. Giving passengers the chance to dive deeper within the marine ecosystem, without the fuss of going up for air. With beginner dives or certified dives available, you can be a first timer, or long-time professional and still enjoy this extra. Once your fingers start pruning, you can enjoy the glass-bottom boat extra, which lets you see the underwater world all from the comfort of the boat!

Which one works for you?

Choosing which tour works for you all depends on what you are interested in. Although the regular tour does not have all the inclusions, such as the scuba diving or the glass-bottom boat, it still has it available on the day. Merely tell your guide at the start of the day and pay for the extra on board, letting you pick and choose which activities you want without having to pay the full price. However, if you are keen on all the activities, and are interested in getting a full breakfast and lunch on the day, the deluxe may work best for you! Simply purchasing the full ticket for everything all in one go!

Regardless of which tour you choose, you will certainly not be disappointed in the true beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
